Being islands, Andaman and Nicobar have a humid climate which is usually hot. The temperature varies from 20o C to 30o C. The rains are heavy here and so it is not advisable to visit during the rains from June to September. The best time to visit these islands is from December to May.

Andaman and Nicobar islands are to the East side of the Indian peninsula. The sun rises very early here. It is usually as early as 5 in the morning. By 9 O’clock you would feel as if it’s the blazing afternoon sun. So it is best to start your day early, take a break in the afternoon and again go sightseeing in the evening. The sun sets at 5 or 5.30 pm.

Keep sipping cool coconut water or ‘Daab’ as it is known locally to beat the heat here. Wear protective sunscreen throughout the day. Carry hats for sun protection. Light cotton clothes are the best for this climate.
