The Andaman islands have a lot of things to explore. Even a month long trip here would be less to know all the islands. It is important that you plan your trip right to see maximum in your limited time frame. Port Blair, Havelock and Baratang are the places you must visit even if your trip is a short one. Spend more time in Havelock Island if you have sufficient days of vacation. Havelock is like haven in Andaman. Some other typical sight seeing excursions can be avoided to get you some more time on Havelock.

Day 1

Reach Port Blair. Check in to a hotel. You can stay at Hotel Megapode Nest. Spend the evening on Corbyn’s Cove beach

Day 2

Sight seeing in Port Blair which includes Chatam saw mill, Cellular jail, Mini zoo and Sagarika Museum. In the evening, visit the cellular jail for the Light and Sound show.

Day 3

Take a cruise to Ross Island. You can skip Viper and North Bay islands and spend more time at Ross. Evening sight seeing at Chidiya Tapu for a beautiful sunset.

Day 4

Take a ferry to Havelock Island. Check in to the hotel and roam around the beaches here. The Dolphin Resort is an ideal hotel to stay in Havelock. You can visit Radhanagar beach in the evening.

Day 5

Take a boat ride to Elephant Island to see the corals by snorkeling. Choose a time when the tide is low so that you can see the corals without going too deep. Zoom off on a rented bike to Kaala patthar in the evening. You can extend a day of peace in Havelock if you wish.

Day 6

Return to Port Blair and check in at a hotel. Visit the water sports complex for some water sports.

Day 7

Early in the morning visit Baratang which is around 3 hour journey by bus. It has beautiful mangroves and a mud volcano. You can meet the tribal Jarwa people here. Don’t schedule the trip on Monday as the area is closed on Mondays. Return to Port Blair in the evening.

If you have more time in hand, Neil Island, Rangat Island and Diglipur can be visited. These places are rarely visited by tourists but they are equally beautiful and have a characteristic of their own.
