Chidiya Tapu BeachChidiya Tapu is an island 33 km south of Port Blair. This place had a lot of birds (chidiya) at one time and hence the name. Even today you can see many species of birds twittering around here.

The beach here has white sand. You can see many uprooted trees on the beach. The huge roots of these form a nice place to sit and watch the sea. Behind the beach is a dense forest. You can see the sun go down behind a hillock from this beach. It is a nice example of sea and hills combination.

A forest guest house is located on the hillock within the island. It gives a good view of the whole area. Glass bottom boats are available for coral watching on the island.
